The Australian Soccer league was founded in 1961 but became affiliated to FIFA in 1963. The club is also known as the A-League. The league is being run by the Football Federation Australia (FFA). The Australian Soccer Federation (ASA) used to run the league before 2005 when the league debut. There are presently 10 clubs in the A league. The A league is made up of leagues from Australia and New Zealand. Some of the most popular clubs in the Australian A League include Adelaide United, Newcastle Jets, Sydney FC, Melbourne victory and Central coast Mariners. Australian league is made up of one of the fewest football clubs in Europe though there are possibilities that the league might expand in the nearest future.
