The highest football league in Belgium is referred to as Coupe De Championnational. It is also referred to as the Jupiler Pro League. The league was founded in 1895 and currently has 18 professional football clubs in the league. The Belgian Football league parades notable football clubs including; R. Standard de Liege, Anderlecht and Club Brugge. Standard Liege is the current champion of the Belgian league.

R.S.C Anderlecht is the most successful Belgian club. It has won the league most times on 29 occasions. It is also referred to as Royal Sporting club Anderlecht. The club was founded in 1908 and it is one of the oldest clubs in Belgium. It is located in Anderlecht in the capital of Belgium; Brussels. The World War disrupted the Belgian league for several years, Anderlecht football club won the league for the first time in 1947 after the World War II. The club currently has a stadium of around 25,000 seat capacity.

Club Brugge is the only successful club from Belgium in the European Champions League, though it has never won the title. The club was defeated by English Premiership club Liverpool FC twice in the final of the Champions league (1976 and 1978). The Jan Breydel stadium is the football stadium owned by Club Brugge. The stadium has a capacity of around 30,000 seats. Club Brugge KV has won the Belgian professional league 13 times and the Beligian cup 10 times.

The Standard de Liege football club of Belgium is also referred to as the Royal Standard de Liege. The club was founded in the year 1900 and were nicknamed Les Rouches which means the reds. It club’s stadium has a capacity of around 31,000 seats and it is located in the city of Liege. This club is currently the league champions of Belgium. They have won the Belgian league 9 times and the Belgian cup 10 times. The club also won the Europe’s winners’ cup in 1982 and it is one of the best clubs in the Belgian league.

The Belgian league like most clubs in Europe is enjoy lots of patronage and partnership from world leading companies and organizations. The league is financially stable but not as lucrative as the biggest three leagues in the world, the English premiership, the Spanish Liga and the Italian Serie A.
