How do I start playing soccer at age 14?

I am 14 and want to do a new sport, soccer. I have watched soccer, but never played. I want to start playing. I know that everyone started at a younger age, but is there any way that I could practice a lot in a certain way to get good? If you could tell me what to work on (conditioning/practicing), that would be great. I already fence (you know, with the swords) so I have some athletic ability, but I want to start soccer.

Firstly, you should ask around at your school – do any of your friends play soccer? Maybe they can arrange some pick-up games you could play in.
Secondly, most towns have both competitive and non-competitive soccer clubs. These clubs provide qualified coaches who run training sessions and arrange games.
Thirdly, go out and purchase a soccer ball and practice your juggling. Juggling will help improve your first touch, ball control and co-ordination.
As has already been mentioned, running helps your cardio fitness. However, don’t just run all in one pace, be sure to change up your running speed. Remember, even though pro soccer players can run up to 7 or 8 miles per game, soccer players often use short bursts of speed.
You could probably do a search on YouTube for Coerver Training Drills – Coerver is widely regarded as one of the great youth training programs.
ha! join a team and play as much as possible and watch the good ones play soccer. GL!
leg and core strength workouts are good to prepare for soccer..plus running is a great way to get fit enough
Get a soccer ball, work on dribbling the ball everywhere. Work on stopping or settling the ball. Use your foot by lifting you toes up but leaving your heal down. Throw the ball in the air trap it with you chest. Find a fence or a wall and work on kicks, kick higher on the ball for lower kicks on the ground. Kick lower on the ball to get loft. The best fake move is to fake a hard kick then cut left or right. Juggle the ball constantly. Always remember frame your posts, slide tackling is a must in outdoor soccer, so practice slide kicking the ball. It doesn’t hurt to practice heading the ball try bouncing of a wall or throwing in the air, be creative. I practiced this stuff all the time and got damn good.
Don’t think it’s too late for you, as long as you know the basic rules from watching it, you can try to find a park or something were people play, and join in. The best way to learn is to actual play, so find friends or people you can play with as often as possible. One basic training exercise is to constantly kick a soccer ball against a wall, improves ball control and one touch passing.
you can still do it you are very young so forget about that just go and practice even if you not do it right you ll get the touch just be smart watch other people how they move watch learn and practice by the way i found this cool side jogabonitosoccer.com is kind like face book for soccer take care.
well it is harder to play sports at an older age but its just harder from lack of interest or laziness. but soccer you can start with juggling by using your body parts to keep the ball in the air.
