I’m not a professional tennis player, but i do play tennis.
The reason I bounce the ball is because it gives me time to clear my mind and concentrate on my serve rather than just standing there.
Also, it gives me a feel on how the ball is, like how much air and bounce it has…which gives me a more accurate serve.
i prefer to bounce the ball rather than just hit have it in my hand, it’s much better!
It looks cool and it’s all part of a ritual.
so they can check how bouncy it is and what to expect when the service is returned
not everybody bounces the ball. Most do and some dont
I personally do it because it allows me to get a feel for how much the ball is displaced due to wind and you know if you have a bad ball.
to build rythm, check the bounce, and for many reasons.
becuz theyre jerks
You hit better if you do that.
its called a ritual. many people have rituals they do before every point. andy roddick touches his hat before almost every point. djkovic always bounces the ball before he serves. it just gets their mind comfortable and ready to start the point
